What Does the word ADOBE means

I was searching on the wikipedia when I find this topic about the word ADOBE. Have you ever imagine what does the word Adobe really means? Here it is as in the Wikipedia.org:

“Adobe is a natural building material composed of sand, sandy clay and straw or other organic materials, which is shaped into bricks using wooden frames and dried in the sun. It is similar to cob and mudbrick. Adobe structures are extremely durable and account for the oldest extant buildings on the planet. Adobe buildings also offer significant advantages in hot, dry climates; they remain cooler as adobe stores and releases heat very slowly”.

The difinition is saying that this type of buildings are durable and offers advantages in hot and dry climate, does this has any relation with naming the company with Adobe?

Reviewing Adobe Encore DVD 2.0

The Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 helps you creating DVD from your videos, slideshows and images easily and enhance you production output with background audio, menus and cool transitions.

Actually, what makes me prefer this product is that it is such easy to use and it uses the same menus concept and software structure of other Adobe products which makes going through the program function easy and learn it faster than any other program.

The Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 is shipped with two Total Training DVDs to introduce you to the Adobe Production Studio package and help you getting started with each product.

What I think is the great in Encore DVD 2.0 is the integration between it and other Adobe products such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge, which allows you to navigate files and use it in your Encore project easy as menus, assets…etc.

Following, we will have a closer look at some of the most interesting new features in the new Adobe Encore DVD2.0:

• Slideshow editor
In Adobe Encore, you can create slideshow from set of images that you previously added to your project panel. The Slideshow editor enables you to edit the duration of each picture, the transition in between them, adding random zooming and panning as well as the ability to add background sound.

This feature is very helpful in adding animation to set of images to include in your DVD project easily.

• Easily navigate your project with the Flowchart

With the Flowchart, you can easily navigate your project. The Flowchart includes the items used in your project and shows the linkage between each other, which makes it easy identify the project flow.

Actually, I do not imagine Encore DVD without this features, as one may get lost within the project especially complex one with more than one menu.
In the Flowchart mode you can edit links to chapters, rename your links, link to other menus, add sub-menus…etc.

With the auto smart moving icons, you do not need to use the scroll-bar or be afraid to miss any item in the Flowchart, as by selecting an item, all the linked items are brought the to screen.

• Menus and menus items templates

The template menus and menus items included in the new Adobe Encore DVD vary to suite your needs. So, you do not need to worry about the menus in your DVD project. These templates are easily to be edited in Adobe Photoshop with single click, just right-click the menu and choose to edit in Photoshop.

The integration between Encore DVD and Photoshop can be easily discovered in this feature, as Adobe Encore can read the hierarchy of the Photoshop menus and translate this arrangement of layers into background, links and active links.

The new version Adobe Encore shares other features with the rest of the Adobe Production Studio package such as the docking panels, which allows easily arrange the program workspace to suite your needs. Also, it shares the Adobe Bridge, which allows you to easily navigate and explore your files and add it to the Encore project with drag-and-drop.

The Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 allows you add multiple video clips on the time line without the need to assemble it in other video editing program.

If you are working in DVD production field, this is a must-have product. You can have a new version for US $349 or upgrade your old version for US $149.
